Why do people beat up people they say they love?

I don’t get it. I really truly don’t.

Recently, a childhood friend of mine finally confided in me that the jerk she had been with had turned out to be a drug abuser who would turn violent on her. As “cute” as he looked, the pain – both mental and physical – just wasn’t worth it.

I’m glad that unhappy chapter has now closed for her and my dear friend can pick up the broken pieces and finally get on with her life. Apparently the police were involved, and it was one big drama… But well, good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.

I think violent men who have to resort to hitting women, are not strong. They are actually the weak ones. And if they refuse help, treatment or counseling, these guys completely deserve to be treated like the wild animals they are – properly caged up and locked away for safety.

Because.

People don’t beat up people they love.
