This is all in context with our recent St James gig last week, which saw Mr Tony Hassini (CEO/ Chairman of the International Magicians Society) personally fly down to present J C & yours truly, our Merlin Awards.
Regional media covered the event as we’re the first Singaporean illusionists in history to receive this international recognition (Original Illusionist of the Year 2009 & Original Female Illusionist of the Year 2009) for our milestones and track record.
I guess it’s a national pride thing, that our local home boy and home girl are recognized for their hard work, that we’re able to achieve the Merlins (which is to magic, what the Oscars are to film) which have been presented to other outstanding illusionists like David Copperfield and Criss Angel.
The gracious Mr Tony Hassini Chairman/ CEO of IMS. It’s his very first time personally presenting the Merlin Awards here in Singapore. He actually liked the humidity in Singapore *LOL*
Hopefully more local magicians in the near future will be able to get similar recognition. We all need to show the world that Singapore is much more than just a little red dot 😉
The wonderful committee from the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 115 came by to support our St James event. I’m truly very grateful for their encouraging support and unselfish love!

Mucho kudos to my awesome friends and loved ones who made time to swing by too 🙂 The ever-sweet BFF actually gave up her expensive pair of STOMP 09 opening night tickets at the Esplanade to catch my gig! *muaks*
Besides the Channel News Asia interviews that talked about our local magic scene, do look out for I-Weekly magazine (issue 624) hitting the newstands later this morning.
Yep… J C’s exclusive on-on-one interview will be on their 专科达人 section (pages 28 & 29) and my on-stage partner shares about his very interesting job. You’ll see him on the cover, can’t miss it. There’s plenty of pictures too! Will blog more about that later.
Ta for now, more lata!
