If you’ve never failed, you’ve never lived.
I think that is so true… experience is necessary and if you’ve never had any “failures” at all, you obviously haven’t been living your given one lifetime to the max. Sadly and more likely than not, you’d always gotten through the years by playing “safe”.
The video above on “famous failures” has been very motivational, as it’s inspired me with the stark reminder than sometimes it’s inevitable that you fail before you succeed… like how it’s necessary to fall before you can walk, before you can run, fly, or teleport 😉
It’s all about perseverance because there’s no short cuts at the end of the day. And truly, I’ve come to realize… Life = Risk.
Ever since I was a little girl, I was taught that in life… you make your own choices, you pay your own prices. But the difference between the smart high flyers who become spectacularly successful amongst the everyday people, is their ambitious drive, pure hard work and passionate perseverance!
Nothing ever comes easy though unenlightened folks from the outside looking in may just assume that these “gifted” famous people got it the easy way because they were either born with it, or just plain lucky.
It’s so easy to merely shrug it off as so but reality has revealed that it’s really through their personal efforts that they made things happen for themselves. Everyone’s got obstacles to overcome – Abraham Lincoln, Lucille Ball, and Michael Jordan are no exception.
There’s so many things I yearn to do still… skydiving, long road trips overseas, visiting places around the word that I’ve yet to explore, accomplish a slew of creative projects, and basically… live life to the fullest.
And in the words of a very wise Simpson character…
PS: The official FISM scores just came out and I’d like to personally congratulate Singapore magician Jeremy Pei on his parlour magic competition attempt 🙂 I believe he’s the very first local to compete and though he didn’t win, I’m sure the local magic circle is proud of his attempt! Click here to see the complete FISM final scores, and here for judge’s reports.
And of course, hearty congrats to my sexy Canadian friend Shawn Farquhar who artfully bagged the 1st prize + Grand Prix Close Up Magic. Magicians in the know would be aware that he’s been seriously competing in FISM for years and finally got the big prize… mucho kudos to the man 😉 His wicked cool competition act was totally slick!!!
